The Match:Garforth Town v FC Halifax Town - Unibond

The Date:Wednesday 7^th April 2010

The Result: Garforth 3 - 4FC Halifax Town.

Unlike Rossendale the Genix Healthcare Stadium is a routine journey by car or rail even for a midweek match with the ground being situated just a mile or so from the M1 and a ten minute walk from either Garforth or Garforth East railway stations.

Car parking is a real issue however with the ground being at the end of a cul-de-sac accessed through a rather nice housing estate. Although credit to the Ossett stewards who did a sterling job directing people to the best parking spots.

The clubhouse outside the ground was busy pre-match and again a nice idea was fans were able to pre-purchase a ticket to ease the congestion at the turnstiles.

Having parted with £7.00 and a further £1.50 for a reasonable attempt at a programme we headed to the food kiosk where even though there was a constant queue it was fast moving however quality was poor and the food was overpriced as I paid £2.00 for the worlds' smallest pie and 14 mushy peas!!

The stadium itself is a compact and tidy arena having just one covered seating area running part way down one touchline which also houses the changing rooms. The remainder of spectator viewing is uncovered terracing.

The game itself was not our best performance of the season ( under statement ) but the last few minutes of normal time and the 5 minutes of injury time were , well..l

CHUFFING AWESOME!! - ENOUGH SAID.

So the 550 plus Town fans in a total crowd of 642 went home stunned, shell-shocked and hoarse but very happy.
