We have been advised by the Unibond League that the Consortium's application for a place in the Unibond One North division has been accepted.

This follows a hectic couple of days when the future looked more than uncertain.

On Wednesday the Trust expressed its disappointment that the appeal of the Clubs expulsion from the league had failed.

On Thursday morning we were advised that the only position available for a new or reformed club - whether it be Consortium or supporter-owned - was in the Unibond One North division.

We became aware on Thursday afternoon that the Consortium was appealing over the decision by the Football Association's Leagues Committee to place a club representing Halifax in the Unibond One North.

We were advised by the Unibond League that there would be no chance of an appeal being successful. They also advised us that they had been told by David Bosomworth that the Consortium had no interest in Unibond One North.

We received a communication from Angie Firth advising us that the Consortium would be submitting an application for the Unibond League and therefore the Trust did not need to.

At 12pm the Unibond League confirmed that an application had been received from the Consortium. The Trust therefore withdrew the Statement of Intent previously submitted to the Football Association "to ensure the consortium have an un-rivalled opportunity to take forward football in Halifax"

The Trust raised concern with the Unibond League over what would happen should the Consortium's appeal fail and consequently walk away. We were advised to send an email, giving our support to the Consortium, but offering to continue with the application if the Consortium withdrew their interest.

At 12.34pm, the Trust submitted an email stressing its support for the Consortium but that if "their appeal is unsuccessful and the consortium decides to withdraw their interest, Halifax Town Supporters' Trust would be willing to step in to ensure there is a future for football in Halifax."

At 1.15pm, the Trust was copied in on an email sent by the Unibond League to Mr Bosomworth advising the Consortium that they either accepted Unibond One North or withdrew their application. The Consortium was given until 3pm to decide on their future.

At 4.24pm the Trust received confirmation from the Unibond League that the Consortium accepted the league given to them.

We now appeal to the Consortium to swiftly call a public meeting with the aim of bringing together, as one, all supporters to ensure the club moves forward positively. A number of decisions have to be made - such as the name of the new club - and consultation with the supporters should be carried out in this regard.

Finally, we wish the Consortium all the very best in providing the supporters with a club that they can be proud
