Summer Soccer Schools Update

SHAY STADIUM COMMUNITY FOOTBALL

At last I can spare five minutes and give you an update on our current and upcoming events!!

This summer has been fantastic, obviously not the weather, but it has not affected the number of children attended our holiday courses at the Shay. We have totalled 1054 children and thats with 2 weeks still remaining!! Not bad for our first summer.

The children have enjoyed penalty shoot outs on the pitch, stadium tours and had a question and answer session with Cortez Belle. We have issued prizes for player of the days, treasure hunts and for general fair play. The prizes have included boot bags, medals, water bottles and England mugs. All children have received a certificate of attendance, free Halifax Rugby tickets for the recent game against Leigh and also Halifax Rugby programmes. All children have had an amazing time and we are now the main delivery of football courses in all of Calderdale.

We have planned for our after schools clubs to begin once again in September and also we are fully booked with schools on every day from the new school term. Additionally we will soon be starting evening sessions at different areas in Halifax to try to attract the older age groups to attend the Shay, mainly 13-17 year olds.

So as you can imagine, our success since January has increased at an amazing rate. Hopefully I can keep you all informed as often as possible now this busy spell is drawing to a close.
