Prescot Cables: Preview
The best way to get over a disappointing defeat is to play again soon, and win. And, that's exactly what FC Halifax Town did on Tuesday when they banished the memory of the defeat at Radcliffe Borough by thumping Ossett Albion 5 v 0.And, on Saturday they have the chance to take revenge for their first defeat of the League season back in November when they host Prescot Cables.
In poor weather conditions a late own goal from Steve Payne saw Neil Aspin's team taste defeat but they recovered well to put together another fine unbeaten run and a similar set of results after last weeks defeat could set up a successful end to the season therefore there is double motivation to record a win at the weekend.
Prescot have a mixed away record but they have recorded wins at Clitheroe, Harrogate Railway, Radcliffe Borough and Salford City but they have suffered heavy losses at Lancaster City and Leigh Genesis. On the other hand The Shaymen's home form is sensational with 40 points won from a possible 42.
James Dean has dominated the goal scoring charts for Town so far but whilst he's struggled to find the target in recent weeks, despite his excellent contribution to the team, the midfield have taken over with Nicky Gray and Harry Winter excelling. But, it's a true team effort and few changes to the starting line up at the weekend are predicated.
With the game being a Saturday fixture Town will be hoping for a bumper attendance so turn out in force and support the team. But, for anyone unable to attend the official website is providing regular updates.Log onto www.halifaxafc.co.uk from 2.45pm
