Radcliffe Borough: Preview

Posted on: Fri 26 Feb 2010

Don't take Radcliffe Borough lightly will be Neil Aspin's simple message as his FC Halifax Town side hit the road on Saturday. And, whilst some may look on the visit to Stainton Park as an ideal opportunity to record another victory it will be far from easy against a Radcliffe side who've found their form in recent weeks and moved up to 10th place in the table.

The Shaymen are looking to extend their current 13 game unbeaten run in League games which stretches back to the trip to Prescott in November and the records show they have won 8 of these games.A win at the weekend would put further pressure on leaders Lancaster City.

Both clubs warned up for Saturday's clash with midweek wins.Second half goals from James Dean and Mark Peers saw off Rossendale United on the snow bound Shay pitch whilst Radcliffe thumped Trafford 4 v 2 with all their goals coming in a 14 minute purple patch in the first half.

Town hope to have a fully fit squad available but Tom Baker is currently carrying a hip injury and Steve Payne was an absentee in midweek so a late check will be necessary the Manager names his team. And, although Neil Aspin wasn't with the Club last season he'll be looking for a repeat result of the previous visit when Town triumphed by 4 v 1.

A healthy visiting support should swell the attendance way above the 72 that watched Radcliffe v Trafford in midweek and they and everyone with connected with the Shaymen is looking for a positive result.
