FC Halifax Town Vs Salford City - Preview
FC Halifax Town head into Saturday's home game against Salford City looking to complete a hat-trick of wins in a week. And, if they do succeed in achieving this feat they could find themselves in the top half of the league table come Saturday evening.
Paul Gedman secured the new Clubs first victory on home soil when he netted against Warrington Town during the week and the front men will be looking to find their scoring boots again against the division's bottom Club.
Salford have taken only one point from their first 6 games at this level and arrive at The Shay to face Jim Vince's team whose performance against Warrington, especially in the first half, gave a glimpse of the attack minded football the Manager wants.
The Visitors will be no easy prey for The Shaymen with Gary Fellows team notching cup wins against Atherton Laburnum Rovers (5 v 0) and Mossley (2 v 0) in the last week.
Town have added 3 new players this week in Miles Smith, Danny Ellis and Antony Hilton but they are likely to have to settle for a place on the bench at best at Jim Vince keeps faith with the team that served him well at Ryton and against Warrington.
Vince told the official site, "The team is really looking forward to continue the winning streak and there was a genuine hunger in Thursday training session.
Competition for places is now very competitive and players know that just doing ok is not good enough. The players know they have to perform to a good level to stay in the team.
I have strengthened the team over the last few days bringing in some new faces to ensure our players stay on top of their game and not to become complacent. All three players signed this week are young hungry players, who want to progress back into league football.
They have an opportunity over the next few weeks to show us how good they are and to become a regular member of the squad."
Can The Shaymen complete 3 wins in a week? Why not come along to The Shay at 3pm on Saturday and cheer the lads on.
