EUFC Replay :- Preview
Halifax Town v Evesham United
F.A. Cup 4th Qualifying round replay
Tuesday 30th October
The Shay
Kick Off - 7.45pm
The most famous domestic cup competition is back at The Shay for the first time this season this Tuesday, when Halifax Town play host to Evesham United in the 4th Qualifying Round Replay.
Although not the most attractive of cup ties, and not the cup game that most would have expected to be on the agenda after the 0-0 draw on Saturday, the FA Cup is what it is, and with the prize of a home tie to Burton Albion in the 1st round proper awaiting the winners, the Shay faithful will be hoping that their side can be more clinical in front of goal in this one.
Michael Branch, who has been out of the game for almost a year before signing for Town at the end of last week, maybe made his debut a little bit too early by coming on as a sub in the 1st game. After little in the way of training and matches for quite sometime, it's likely that Chris Wilder will keep him on the bench.
Darryn Stamp is expected to retain his place in the starting line up, alongside Jon Shaw upfront, with Kearney and Bushell again playing in the heart of midfield.Danny Forrest is still some weeks away from fitness, and the back four and 2 wide men are also likely to be the same that started against Evesham.
Again, Town are favourites to progress to the 1st Round proper, and the players will take a victory as a well needed confidence boost.
Evesham look set to stick with keeper Nathan Vaughan, who kept United in the competition, although with one or two mistakes that did nearly prove costly,Chris Wilder will be hoping that his side can exploit any nerves at the second time of asking, by being more ruthless in and around the penalty area. The impressive Steve Luckett should also be a certain starter, along with Mark Owen.
Despite comments from the supporters, the club have confirmed that admission prices will be as normal for the game on Tuesday night. The F.A. Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the world, and whether it be Manchester United or Evesham United who visit The Shay, every fan is required on the terraces to cheer their team on to the next rounds, before the more "glamorous" ties become a possibility.
This game sees Anthony Griffith serve another game of his 4 match ban freeing him up for games which some would say will be more difficult.
