See Work Progress At The Shay.
Calderdale Council is considering installing a web cam at the Shay Stadium so people can see work progress.
The move follows a suggestion from a member of the public who was keen to keep a close eye on the East Stand development.
Calderdale Council is currently in the process of finding a suitable vantage point and identifying a camera which would stand up to the winter weather conditions. The scheme would be funded out of the existing budget for the development.
Contractors Halls started on site last month and for the last few weeks they have been clearing the site ready for the start of actual physical work next month.
While there they have been able to take an even closer look at work needed at the site and have given the Council a final completion date of October next year at the latest.
Councillor Stephen Baines, Leader of Calderdale Council, said the web cam was a great idea.
"It will give people the opportunity to see work progressing on site on a daily basis. Via the Council's website people will be able to watch a community stadium appear in front of their very eyes.
"We are hoping to have the camera up and running as the physical work starts. We are in the process of finalising the exact details and we will be releasing further information to the public in the next couple of weeks."
