FC Halifax Town manager Jim Vince has signed two new players ahead of Saturday's FA Trophy tie away at Harrogate Railway.

Town have signed 23 year old Danny Meadowcroft from Conference North side Droylsden along with 20 year old striker Colin Daniel from Crewe Alexandra.

Vince was delighted to have secured the signings of both players and he told the official website tonight, "We have brought in a couple of players in Danny and Colin which we needed to do. I have to thank Mr Bosomworth and the board who have supported me in bringing them in having seen the long injury list at the moment.

Danny is a player that I recommended through to Droylsden when I wasn't involved in a club. I was helping them and he wants to be involved in what we are trying to achieve at the Club. He's a 6ft 4 centre half, he is agile and quick. He's a good player and he fills a void which has been created by the absence of Tony Barras and Steve Payne. We are delighted to get Danny into the club and once he gets himself embedded into the club he will prove a very good signing for us.

We've taken Colin Daniel from Crewe Alexandra. He is a second year pro and he is a forward.I am very pleased that Colin will be joining on a month's loan. With my involvement with Crewe, they've allowed him to come here which is quite unusual as he is a second year pro he should be Conference material. He's coming through for a month and we'll help him, get him involved with the set up here and it's very good of Dario Grady and Steve Holland to allow a player of his calibre to come here.

He's very quick, he's just under 6ft tall. He's strong and athletic, he's on the fringes of the first team at Crewe and hopefully we'll help him to fulfil his potential and show what he is capable of. It's good for Daniel as it gives him a chance to go back to Crewe and be in first team contention."

Daniel Meadowcroft told the official site after training tonight, "Jim Vince is a manager that I have come across a few times and I like his style of play.  I have come to the Shay because of Jim.  I have known him in the past and there are a few players here that I have played with before including Jon Kennedy, Cavell Coo, Paul Gedman and Lincoln Adams.

He's a good manager, he'll really help with my game. I wasn't playing at Droylsden and not in the manager's plans. I have come here now and I just want to be playing every week. I have signed a 12 month contract with the club.

I have played with Linx before and it will be good to be reunited with him again. We had a good partnership before, we are both good in the air with good pace. I can't wait to get back onto the pitch.

I have played with Morecambe in the FA Trophy and we got to the last 16 with them. It would be good to do that at least with Town."
