FC Halifax Town boss Jim Vince has been hit with the bad news that experienced defender Steve Payne and striker Neil Ross could be out of action for up to two months with an ankle injury and knee injury respectively.

The former Stalybridge centrehalf will require surgery on his ankle after he got injured in Town's 4-1 defeat at Unibond Premier Division side Nantwich Town on Saturday, while Town striker Neil Ross will require surgery on his knee.

However the good news for Jim Vince is midfielder Ross Clegg does not need surgery on his cruciate ligament and he could make his return to the squad in January instead of the predicted next summer.
