FC Halifax Town entertain Silsden in the preliminary round of the FA Cup at the Shay on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Town boss Jim Vince has been boosted with players returning to training following injuries but isn't looking to bring any new players into the club before Saturday's game.

Vince told the official site tonight, "I am pleased tonight as Ashley Stott and Adam Morning have come through the training session. We're hoping that they will both play a part on Saturday if there are no reactions to tonight.

"Tony Barras is coming on nicely, I expect him to train with us next Thursday night and Saturday.

Ryan Sugden has picked up his training and I think he is on the same line as Tony. We won't risk either of them until the right time. We won't rush them as we want to make sure they are right when they are back. Alan Russell Cox has worked really hard and I'm really pleased with their progress.

I'm not looking to bring in any players ahead of the weekend. We have a few players back but for me the next players that come on board have to be the right players for us. I don't know if people understand the strategy that has been applied so far. We have brought trialists in and there have been a few that have now been released. They allowed us to get a team on the park. They were a good standard but not the Halifax standard. Some of them have earnt deals but the majority have gone.

We are at a stage now where we have a good squad but the next players have to be the right ones with the players that we want. We need their skills in the right areas.

The first phase was getting a team on the park and now we are at the second phase to improve it. I am not going to carry players and I have had a chat with a couple of them tonight to explain the situation and gone through some scenarios with them. It's up to them to buck up. I said two weeks ago to the players to shape up or ship out and I think with a couple of departures I'm underpinning it."

If the two sides draw on Saturday, the replay will be played on Wednesday night at Cougar Park, 7-45pm kick-off.
