The Club is delighted to have made the appointment of Jim Vince as Manager, following Chris Wilder's departure to Bury.

Jim is 41, having previously been a player at Stoke City, Crewe Alexandra, Altrincham, Witton Albion and Winsford United. During the last two and a half seasons, he has been Manager at Witton Albion, achieving two second places in the UNIBOND Premier League.

Commenting, David Bosomworth confirmed 'We received over 15 applications for the position, which was never advertised. Certainly very encouraging as we start a new chapter for the Football Club'. Continuing, 'We short-listed four applicants, all with excellent levels of experience. All the applicants interviewed extremely well and certainly made the final choice a difficult one. However, a second round of interviews, confirmed that Jim was the outstanding choice'. 'Jim has demonstrated immense determination and ambition' said Bobby Ham. 'He is very keen for the Club to do well and start a climb up the pyramid. He already has good experience of leading a Club in the UNIBOND and has worked very hard on achieving relevant coaching qualifications'.

Jim Vince now has the challenging task of getting players together within a five week spell, before the start of the first game on 16th August 2008. In addition, he has to get them fit and weld them in to a team, which will obviously develop and evolve as games get under way. Time will be at a premium and every minute used in the hectic period ahead, but everyone at the Club is up for the new challenge.

Stuart Peacock finished off by saying 'the Club is in the process of rebuilding, this is the first piece of the jigsaw and we will ensure that fans are kept up to date as and when news is available. We will not make any information public, unless we know the details are correct or complete'.

The Club expects to make more announcements in the course of the next seven to ten days, covering a number of topics.
