Following the previous announcement from the Football Club and the Consortium on Tuesday 13^th May, we are updating the situation as it currently exists.

We are waiting for an official response to our situation, following a meeting of the Football Conference Board, on Wednesday 14^th May. We are not currently party to the outcome of that meeting, but we are aware communication will be forthcoming, once they have taken advice and had further discussions with relevant parties. In connection with this, we have today received communication from the Football Association (FA), informing us Halifax Town will not appear in the Club Listings for Steps 1-4 of the Football Pyramid. This is because we are still a member club of the Football Conference and the Leagues Committee is not able to confirm our placing, until matters are resolved. This situation has occurred in previous seasons and no conclusions can be drawn.

In view of this, you will appreciate we are unable to provide any further explanation at this time. As much as we all want to know where we stand, we must be patient and await the news in due course. It must be remembered, that the livelihoods of the staff of the Football Club are involved in these discussions and we are desperately keen for the most favourable outcome. A lot of work is going on behind the scenes to try and secure a future for the Football Club, in line with recent standing.

We can assure you, when we are in a position to make a public announcement, we certainly will do.
