Wright Sees Red
Halifax Town fullback Jake Wright was sent off this afternoon for a second bookable offence in the second half at the Recreation Ground.
Wright was booked in the first half for a challenge which was harsh as he won the ball from the Aldershot player.
In the second half, Wright was booked again for his alleged comments following the penalty miss by Rhys Day.
Chris Wilder said, "Jake Wright says he didn't say anything to the linesman. I have been in with the linesman, who has said that someone came over to him after the penalty was taken and chirped in his ear. He hasn't sworn at him. The boys were frustrated by the decision leading up to the penalty and the lad missed it. That's football. Nobody has gone over to the linesman. The lad's put it wide, we are ready to take a goal kick and no where near the linesman. Some of our players were around the referee before the penalty. If anything was said then it would have been dealt with then. I thought they were going to have to retake the penalty for encroachment or something. It was unbelievable as it was 10 or 15 seconds after the penalty. Also if he swore at him, it would have been a straight red for foul and abusive which it wasn't. I have threatened the players that if they lie then I will take drastic action as I am putting myself on the line here. I will watch the video and if its wrong, I will deal with it.
Wright will miss one game which will be Town's FA Cup clash against Evesham United next Saturday.
Meanwhile Anthony Griffith will also be out as he continues with his four match ban but Town will have Jon Shaw back after a three match ban.
Ryan Toulson was replaced at halftime with a dead leg and Lewis Killeen hobbled off with an ankle injury.
