The Lancashire side came from one down to book their place in the Football League for the first time in their history.

Lee Phillips put Exeter ahead and then goalkeeper Paul Jones saved a penalty from Wayne Curtis to protect the Grecians lead.

Morecambe equalised with a Gary Thompson effort and striker Danny Carlton's beautiful finish on the counter attack gave them victory.

Halifax Town had three connections in this afternoon's final, former Shay boss Mark Lillis and defender Adam Yates were on the winning side whilst former winger Lee Elam ended up on the losing side.

Congratulations to everyone involved at Morecambe Football Club from everyone at Halifax Town AFC,
