Halifax Town are still searching for their first home win of the Conference season after this afternoon's 1 v 1 draw against 10 man Morecambe at The Shay.

Following Saturday's victory at Cambridge, Chris Wilder made a couple of changes to his starting line up with fit again Matt Doughty replacing Jake Wright at left back and a forward line reshuffle saw Ryan Sugden and Lewis Killeen paired together.Steve Torpey made his full debut for the Club after previous substitute appearances.

Danny Carlton had the first shot of the game in the first minute but he failed to test Craig Mawson and moments later Garry Hunter was off target.Town's first move of note involved Killeen and Sugden and resulted with a Torpey shot that cleared the bar.

Chris Wilder

Town were indebted to Matt Doughty in the 10th minute when he acrobatically cleared former Hereford midfielder Craig Stanley's header off the line.Danger man Michael Twiss shot into the side

netting with a powerful left footed shot.

The Shaymen were dealt a blow in the 19th minute when Tyrone Thompson limped from the field after a heavy challenge to be replaced by Hull City loanee Russell Fry.

Midway through the first half Michael Howard was red carder for the visitors.Having been fortunate to only receive a yellow card for pushing Ryan Sugden in the chest, Howard upended Danny Forrest leaving the referee no option but to brandish a red card.

Town began to control the midfield with Martin Foster enjoying a large amount of possession and he started a 36th minute move that threatened a goal.Foster found Torpey on the left and his deep cross was headed across goal where Sugden set up Killeen whose shot was comfortably saved by Ryan Robinson.

Steve Torpey forced Robinson into a low save seconds before half time and then gave Town the lead in injury time.A sweeping move started with Danny Forrest beating two men and cutting in from the right hand side. His pass to Sugden was flicked into Torpey's path and the former FC United of Manchester player finished clinically to record his first Conference goal.

Town started the second half brightly but failed to test Robinson and the visitors started to enjoy more possession and on a couple of occasions Russell Fry was alert to clear dangerous crosses.

At the other end Sugden escaped his marker on the bye line and looked to have been fouled but kept his balance for a low cross that was cleared.Sugden was in the thick of the action on the 60th minute when he was put clear on the right but his cross was cleared before Killeen could pounce.

A mix up between Torpey and Foster resulted in Morecambe gaining possession and Mark Roberts was harshly adjudged to have fouled Danny Carlton on the edge of the box from a long ball forward.Michael Twiss sent his left foot shot into the Town net and Morecambe were level at 1 v 1.

Danny Forrest was fouled 22 yards from goal at the other end but Torpey's free kick was blocked by the wall.Andy Campbell joined the action replacing Ryan Sugden on the 65th minute as Chris Wilder searched for the winning formula up front. And Campbell was immediately in the game as firstly he was set free by Forrest on the right but his cross shot was saved by Robinson. Moments later Fry released Doughtly and Campbell was inches away from converting the full backs teasing cross.

There was a scare for Town on 81 minutes when Michael Twiss went down in the box and whilst the Morecambe players and fans appealed for a penalty Referee Matadar ruled play on.

The game ended all square and Chris Wilder was obviously disappointed not to win the game.
