Elding on the score sheet for Stevenage

Halifax Town have gone down to a 1-0 defeat at Broadhall Way this afternoon against Stevenage Borough in their latest Nationwide Conference game.

Former Town striker Darryn Stamp provided the assist for Anthony Elding's right foot shot past Ian Dunbavin to put the Hertfordshire side ahead.

Assistant Manager Wayne Jacobs started the game and he had an effort two minutes into the game with his effort from 18 yards going wide of the left hand post.

Lewis Killeen tried his luck on 7 minutes with his shot from the edge of the box going wide of the right hand post.

Steve Haslam cleared the ball on 20 minutes following a George Boyd cross to prevent any danger but Elding put Stevenage in front a couple of minutes later.

Justin Gregory did well to clear a Jacobs corner on 29 minutes and Henry cleared a Midgley set piece minutes later.

Stamp himself tried to get on the scoresheet however his 42nd minute effort went over the bar.

George Boyds effort just into the second half was well saved by visiting goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and then he kept out Stamp's header.

Town boss Chris Wilder tried to change a couple of things with Senior and Bowler replacing Midgley and Jacobs.

Dunbavin then kept out a left footed Boyd shot and Bulman had a shot over the bar, Town sub Senior tried a 25 yard shot but Julian saved his shot.

Town hit the bar through Martin Foster but a good performance from The Shaymen and didn't get the break they were looking for and come away from the game with no points.
