FC Halifax Town goalkeeper Phil Senior joined Shaymen Player after helping the side to a 3-2 win at Mickleover, and was pleased Town's attacking display.

"I thought we defended reasonably well and I think our attacking play was fantastic. We were just unlucky that some of the chances weren't converted, but the promising thing is that we've made plenty of chances and that's what we need to be doing in this league."

Jamie Vardy was the star performer for the Shaymen, and Senior had special praise for his team-mate's performance and his potential.

"He's a fantastic player, his pace is just unreal and it's with the ball as well that he's fast and I think defenders are going to struggle this year against him as long as we give him good service."

Senior got the nod over Jonathan Hedge in goal, and said that the two play an important role in keeping the other on their toes.

"In my eyes, he's a quality 'keeper. I've always had a good relationship with the other 'keepers at whichever club I've been at. Me and Hedgey get on really well. The main thing for me is to see him do well. Obviously, I want to play, but if I'm not I want to make sure he's the best he can possibly be. I'm just happy to get the game today."
