Colwyn Bay: Maybe Was A Fair Result

Posted on: Mon 30 Aug 2010

FC Halifax Town midfielder Scott Phelan joined Shaymen Player after the team's 1-1 draw with Colwyn Bay and said the result was what both sides deserved.

"It looked as though we were going to win 1-0 but they've scored from a set-piece which is disappointing with about ten minutes left and it's hard to pick yourself up and go again. Overall, they've had a few good chances so maybe 1-1 was a fair result."

Phelan tried to focus on the positives after the draw, one of which is that the club is still undefeated at home.

"Obviously they've got a new manager and have a whole new team compared to last season and it was a pretty competitive match, but we haven't been beaten which, we don't want to at home by anybody, so that's a positive for us."

Phelan admitted it has been a frustrating time personally after picking up an injury during pre-season.

"It's probably the worst time to pick up an injury, especially when it's a little niggle. I've missed quite a bit of football to be honest and it's been stop start. I could feel it in the first 20 minutes, I was struggling to catch my breath a little bit and my touch was a bit off but the only way that'll come is in games and I'm confident that when I get my fitness back I'll be able to do a job."
