Colwyn Bay: Wasn't Going To Be Easy

Posted on: Mon 30 Aug 2010

FC Halifax Town striker James Dean joined Shaymen Player after making his first appearance of the season in the 1-1 draw with Colwyn Bay, and said his time out injured has been frustrating.

"All the way through pre-season, I haven't really had chance to do anything such as touch a ball or get into a game and I've been isolated in training doing my rehab but it's minutes on the pitch that I need."

Dean said the players expected a tougher game today than the two 3-0 wins Town recorded over Colwyn last season.

"They're a good side and we knew it wasn't going to be as easy as it was last season when we played them and they've defended well. We were a bit off the mark in the first-half but in the second-half we managed to get a goal but unfortunately they've just shoved everybody up and that's come out to their advantage."

The forward insists that there is a lot more to come from The Shaymen this season, bu the players need a bit more time to settle down.

"I think the games have been good so far, the lads have been trying hard. We were passing it really well in the first-half on Saturday, but in the second-half we were like a different team, but I think we just need that consistency. Today, in spells, we looked good but I think we just need to get used to everybody and see how we go from there."
