FC Halifax Town defender Matt Plummer spoke to Shaymen Player after starting for the first time for the club in the 2-1 defeat at Chasetown, and said the team were ultimately undone by not scoring a crucial second goal.

"It was a good start in the first-half, we created a lot of chances but maybe, looking back on it, we should've put some of those chances away but that's something to work on in training and get right for the next game."

Plummer insisted, though, that the defence had a role to play in the second-half turnaround that saw Chasetown come back to win.

"It's not just about getting the second goal, it's about keeping clean sheets, which if we had done, we'd have won the game, so we're a bit disappointed from the defensive side of things, too."

The summer signing also said the Colwyn Bay game on Monday is a good opportunity for the team to put the Chasetown result behind them.

"We've got a chance to put things right and hopefully we can get a good result there and push on for the rest of the season."
