"There's been a lot of hard work in the close season, a lot of work to do but we're looking forward very much to the start of the season."

Peacock was impressed with the new signings' impact during the win at the DualSeal Stadium.

He said: "I think we've seen some signs today that bode well for a very exciting season. (Jamie) Vardy and (Nathan) Taylor together, goodness, we've got a bit of a setup there."

He also looked ahead to the new campaign and what Town may end up with. He said: "Well, I have a feeling that probably 80 points might win the league this year, and hopefully we'll be there or thereabouts at the end, that's certainly what we're all working for."
