FC Halifax Town manager Neil Aspin spoke to Shaymen Player after guiding his side to a 2-0 win at Trafford in the club's final pre-season match.

"I would have liked a better performance in the second-half, but there were some good points in the game and it was nice to finish with a second goal."

Aspin said he was happy with how the overall pre-season programme had gone.

"You don't look at results in pre-season, but we've had four clean sheets which is always good and we've only lost the one game against Grimsby so it's been steady if unspectacular."

Aspin is determined to pick up where his side left off last season by playing attacking football from the off.

He said: "We'll be sending out a team to win games home and away and we're going to be positive. We're going to approach every game like we did last season and hopefully we'll be competitive in every game."
