Posted on: Wed 28 Apr 2010

Stand-in manager Ryan Crossley played down the defeat on penalties to Mickleover Sports that ended Halifax's 2009/10 season.

"It was a bit of a 'get in the way' game if you like, without sounding disrespectful in any way, the lads have played a lot of games in such a short space of time and we're thin on the ground as it is, so we tried to approach it in a fun manner really."

The comeback from 2-0 down typified Town's season, and Crossley said the players put in another performance to be proud of.

"We know that we didn't particularly want to play on Saturday but we also didn't want to get beat, and thankfully we turned it round. We've created more chances than they have, so there are positives in that respect."

Crossley also praised the display of 'keeper Jonathan Hedge, who unexpectedly got his name on the score sheet.

"Yeah, he's done well, he's put himself about. He looks like he's carrying himself a bit to be fair, but he did alright."

You can see the full interview later today on Shaymen Player.
