AFC Fylde: It's A Kick In The Teeth

Posted on: Sat 20 Mar 2010

FC Halifax Town's fine comeback on Tuesday night sparked emotional scenes at Clitheroe, but the tables were turned on Saturday after AFC Fylde scored in the final seconds to snatch a draw.

Full-back Aaron Hardy scored Town's equalizer on Tuesday, but the feelings on Saturday evening were the polar opposite, as he explained to Shaymen Player's Tom Snee;

"Nicking it at the death on Tuesday night was a great result.It gave us the confidence today, but it's a kick in the teeth to concede late on.We never really got out the traps in the first half, but we got the goals we deserved in the second."

Town started the game with two debutants in the line-up, and the new boys are already becoming part of the team;

"Wildey (Michael Wilde) did excellently to get the goal and linked well with Deano (James Dean).Same with Bradley Barnes - both lads have already started to fit in well."

Looking ahead to Tuesday night's clash with Radcliffe Borough, Hardy said;

"It's a massive game - with a three point deficit to Lancaster we have to keep winning.With what happened last time we played Radcliffe, we owe them one so we are all looking forward to it."
