FC Halifax Town beat Chorley 3-1 at the Shay last weekend as the Shaymen extended their lead at the top of the Unibond First Division.

Town boss Jim Vince handed a debut to loanee Ajay Leitch-Smith who has joined the club from Crewe Alexandra.

Ajay told the official site after the game, "I hadn't played for a couple of weeks so I found the game hard to be honest. However I worked hard and put myself about a bit.

In the first half, we played 3-4-3 and then in the second half we switched to 4-4-2 and I thought we looked better with that."

He is the second player to have joined Town from Crewe this season on loan as striker Colin Daniel enjoyed a successful spell with the club.

Ajay added, "Colin really enjoyed his time here, he told me that it's the place to be as they play some good football."

Town travel to Rossendale United on Saturday looking to make it 11 games unbeaten and Ajay is not being complacent about the chances of picking up the points.

He said, "It will be hard game, I'll be doing my best for the team. I will try to get as many goals as possible whilst I am here."
