FC Halifax Town boss Jim Vince was pleased with his side as they drew 2-2 away at Garforth Town tonight.

He told the official website after the game, "We controlled the game and it was something like what I am expecting from this group of players tonight. If it wasn't down to our lacklustre in the final third and taking our opportunities we should have won the game comfortably.

We had to chase the game at 1-0 and then we were done by a sucker punch and we didn't deserve to be 2-0 down to be honest.I think we were effective but not dynamic which is the difference in the final third.

It didn't go for us and the players took wrong options but I think this is good for me tonight and the players that in adversity we have stood up and been counted.

If that's the way this "Brazilian" team wants to play, we've played football and we've not got involved when they have tried to intimidate, bad tackles coming in and we've carried on trying to play football.

For the last 20 mins the players didn't die, they said we'll keep on doing what we are doing, keep playing and changing the angles. We didn't resort to their tactics and kept trying to get the ball into good areas. Sometimes the players lose possession but they were trying to play football. I think everyone here will be wondering how we didn't win that game.

The endeavour shown by the players was good and I have told them that if they should that kind of endeavour. That's the minimum requirement now; hopefully the fans will have seen that.

Their goal was a deflection, we didn't track their lad and then we were chasing the game when they scored their second. We were taking chances but I am always prepared to take those chances because I want to win, the players to win and for them to be successful.

We work hard on set pieces and we always work hard to change the angles. Yes if you put a ball into the box your striker can get onto the end of it but its there for the defender to lose as well.

I am pleased with the endeavour and if we have that between now and the end of the season. We have some quality players and we will do well.

I thought Damian Allen was superb tonight; his distribution and game play was good. You can criticise players for making mistakes, you can't knock Ashley Stott. He may have lost the ball a few times but with his work rate it shows that he wants to win.

It's a point away from home; we need to start winning games."

Town entertain Skelmersdale United at home on Saturday 11th October, 3pm kickoff.
