FC Halifax Town were defeated 4-1 at Unibond Premier Division side Nantwich Town yesterday in the FA Cup.

Jim Vince told the official site after the game, "We were punished, we defended poorly to be fair and every time we made a mistake we were punished by them.

I don't think we were poor overall today but I don't think we have done as well as we should have done. However that's cup football if you make mistakes you get punished.

We have made four mistakes, one from a corner which is bad marking, a penalty which was shocking defending and the last one the ball comes over and the centre halves haven't dealt with it and they have scored from the flick on.

We started bright and breezy in the first half and got the lead but I don't there was much between us in the first half. We've been as good as them in the first half.

We were disappointed to lose Paul Gedman during the first half. He got injured in training at Droylsden on Thursday night.Obviously I was annoyed that he had got injured during his session there but he wasn't the catalyst for us losing the game today, we did that ourselves.

I am bitterly disappointed we have gone out of the FA Cup but I am not going to lambast the players for it. They know they made mistakes, but that's football.

All credit to Nantwich they deserved to go through. They were stronger than us in the second half; our ball retention wasn't as good as it should have been. I think 4-1 is a little flattering to be honest.

We'll gather again for Tuesday, we'll learn from this and highlight the areas where we need to improve for the next game. "
