Vince - It Was A Massive Improvement
FC Halifax Town manager Jim Vince was pleased with his side's performance against Durham City on Bank Holiday Monday.
He said after the game, "It was a massive improvement from Saturday and it looks like we are not getting the rub of the green at the moment. Everything is going against us, it's not excuses but you look at the treatment table and we have five players out who would be in the starting eleven.
We have had to deal with it but losing Ashley Stott today was a massive blow.
The lads that have come in today have been a massive improvement and it was a lot better.
It was a clean sheet which is a start, I said from day one, we would look at the performances and the results would take of themselves.
Today our ball retention was a lot better and once we get one, we will get 2, 3 and 4.
I wanted to play Nigel and Ashley today up front today, Nigel is very intelligent and I wanted to help Ashley with his game. He should have scored, he knows that and he is kicking himself about it. It was a clear opportunity for him.
There will be changes as we need to be more dynamic in the final third.
The crowd really got behind us and were willing the team on especially towards the end. They have reacted well and got behind us."
