FC Halifax Town were defeated 3-0 by Bamber Bridge at the Shay this afternoon in the Unibond Division One North.

Town midfielder Justin Walker made no excuses for his side's performance and told the official site after the game, "Our preparation was good for the game; the gaffer prepared us well for the match. There are no excuses and we know it wasn't good enough from us. I feel we didn't do enough man for man.

It was the first game of the season, all the players turned up and wanted to play but it didn't happen for us today which is massively disappointing.

I don't think we played as well as we know we can but we are big enough to take the criticism when it is due and we'll look forward to Tuesday night's game. The lads are gutted, everyone is new at the club and we wanted to do well.

We felt that the support was good and the build up to the game was excellent. It's a long season but it's always nice to play again so soon so we don't dwell on it for seven days and we'll look to put the first three points on the board during the week. "
