Halifax Town manager Chris Wilder was disappointed as his side went down 2-0 away at Droylsden this afternoon.
He said after the game, "This weekend hasn't been the best for the Football Club. We haven't got the results that we were obviously after and we find ourselves well and truly in it.
Obviously we are not on 43 points, we are on 33 points. Is it a coincidence we've lost three games since it was announced, I don't know. I keep asking the players to give it their lot; it's a difficult time for the Football Club and difficult time for the players.
I would imagine a lot of the fans have gone home after the game and given up on us. There are still nine games to go, we are not in Droylsden, Farsley, Weymouth or Altrincham's position. We can still affect our own position and we have got to do that. We have to big and strong.
I have had good times at the club. I don't get carried away when things are going well and I don't get carried away when people are calling for me to go. It's disappointing and I will keep my own counsel on that.
People may be writing us off but when the end of season awards are handed out we have to make sure that we are still a Blue Square Premier side.
No disrespect to our opponents today, they've had a right go at it and they took their chances. We've had a right go and not taken our chances. We could have been 3-0 up within the first five minutes. I think we had had a stonewall penalty turned down, the referee went to blow and they changed his mind. That's disappointing. They've scored a cracking second goal through our own mistake.
Anybody who was here will know that we pushed forward and gave it a real go in the second half. The players are playing a little bit of fear football at the moment because of the situation we are in. That's understandable. We will try to relax them but make them understand the situation. Football can change very quickly.
We'll go to Exeter on Saturday; no doubt everyone will write us off getting a result. We have to make sure that we are right and make sure things change quickly in this game.
I have lost my big centre forward who has scored 24 goals not playing; we then lose Adam Quinn and Andy Campbell through injury. I know these things are happening, some will say that it was a pathetic performance today, it wasn't a pathetic performance - it's not a fantastic result. We've played a lot worse than that this season and picked up points. I will not take that on board.
I won't batter the players as they had a go at it today. They tried to win the game, they tried to go forward. Yes there are parts of the game which aren't flowing at the moment but two weeks ago we played Torquay at home and I would arguably say that was the best performance my team has played whilst I have been manager at the club. That's when you're playing a team at the top of the current form league and they are having a right go at it.
It's not the players' fault that we have had 10 points deducted. It's not my fault either. I have got the people behind the goal thinking the troubles at the Football Club are all down to CW. Is that my fault ? Has the problems over the last five and half years been my fault ? I know the true story at our football club and people have to fire bullets at someone and it's me. I have told the players I will take them all day on the chin. This club will move forward, we will stay in this league and we will move forward with or without me next season. On the basis of today, I think a few will hope it is without me but I am here until the end of the season, I will ensure this club stays in the league and then I will assess my situation. I was stood 50 yard away from our fans and they are having a pop at me. It's disappointing but we will remain strong and focused and we will carry on."
