Halifax Town manager Chris Wilder was delighted with the 2-0 home win this afternoon.

He said after the game, "It was excellent this afternoon. We got off to go a good start and got the early goal. We created chances after that. Yet again Griffith has got sent off; I have no qualms about that. I have had a chat with him after the game, it will cost him in his career and he needs to think about it. I think the lads have pulled a performance out for themselves, the supporters and for Griffith as well. Everyone's seen the challenge, I want them to compete but it's a ridiculous situation at the moment and he needs to think long and hard about it. We were looking to take him permanently but I won't be now. His contract with us was until the end of the season. It gave me a long look at him and he is one we had down to look into turning into a permanent player for us but I can't afford to keep losing him for three or four games.

Jon Shaw was excellent for us today and led the line well. It's been a great day for us, Andy Campbell coming back from us. I said last week was embarrassing and a lot of questions have been asked about the players and me. They have answered them today but they need to keep answering them. Hopefully with players we are looking to bring in and the changes to be made, Campbell, Forrest and Quinn coming back, the squad is looking healthier.

Quinn went off with cramp, it shows his attitude he wanted to play. Andy Campbell wanted to play; he's nowhere near to be fair in starting a game. He's not done any training really, just bits and pieces with Ian Helliwell. He's another one who wanted to go out there and help us out.

Last week we let ourselves down; it was better against Salisbury and even better today.

We'll take one game at a time, you've seen what York City have done, and they are on a bit of a roll now. We need to keep focusing and approach each game with the right attitude. We are a difficult side to beat when we tighten up a bit; we've got a goal in us as you've seen today. It's just disappointing that I couldn't have sat back with a cigar as we should have scored a lot more. We have some really good chances even when we were down to ten men. The boys should great drive and determination, backed up by the supporters who I have to commend for their attitude. They gave the players every opportunity to flourish from the first minute. I have got to manage the players but I want the environment around them to be good and it was perfect today. It allowed the players to give an excellent performance and a great three points for us that we can build on."
