SCFC Match :- Wilder's View
It's very difficult times for us at the moment both for me and the team. It's probably the toughest spell in my six years at the Football Club. It's not going as well as we obviously have wanted it to do. I understand and take responsibility for that.
I thought we showed today in difficult conditions against arguably 12 people in terms of the performance of the referee. It was commendable; it was an awful day in terms of playing football. There wasn't much football played out there. No chances really created from either side with them having a couple and we also had a couple. The difference between the two sides is they took their chance and we didn't take ours. And again we are at the wrong end of a narrow defeat. From our point of view, it is better than the embarrassing defeat to Farsley on Boxing Day. Certainly not as good as we want it to be. There are a lot of bullets out there at myself and at the players. There will be a lot of people out there saying I am not up to the job and saying the players aren't up to the job. It's important to show these people we are, I have had my criticism and people who have been against me since day one. Nothing really chances, but possibly there are a few more of them about. However saying that there are a lot of people who are still positive and know the job I am doing under the circumstances.
We have Andy Campbell, Danny Forrest, Adam Quinn who should all be back in action shortly. In another couple of weeks, things will have hopefully turned round. We need to be patient and positive and we'll look to change your fortunes around. The players know there will be changes as the results haven't been good enough and I fully understand that.
