Halifax Town manager Chris Wilder was delighted with his side in earning their first away win since Stafford Ranger on 6th September.

"It was about time. With the players that we have got at this Football Club, our away record to say the very least is very poor. We had been close in away games this year, we've not made it easy for ourselves. To get a result at a place like Stevenage is a tremendous effort, especially with other things happening today, like their new manager being introduced to the home crowd etc. I have been in the game for a few years and I know that players want to make an immediate impact with their new boss, to get off to a good start and made a good first impression. We always knew it would be difficult.

I don't know where to start really, there was the bad with a couple of poor decisions defensively but the good showing tremendous character with wonderful football at times, especially when it got evened up by the referee. That's what I thought, I thought the game got evened up, yet again we've had a man sent off and we could have gone under. I thought we were the better side, we've had a touch of luck at the end there, but the players are saying that there was a handball and a push before that. The boy hit the bar and then missed the chance. I think anyone who has watched not just this season but also last year we were due a little bit of luck. Maybe we've had a little bit of that, but having said that we've had some great opportunities to score more.

To get such an early goal in the second half put us in the ascendancy and even though they were down to 10 men, I thought we played it superbly well, created chances and moved the ball well.

We need to keep the momentum running and look for three points at home to Salisbury next weekend."
