Polyframe - Company History
Halifax based Polyframe Trade Ltd have grown rapidly to become the UK's largest independent manufacturers of PVCu windows, doors and conservatories.Since the business was established 20 years ago the product offering has grown and changed beyond recognition, making Polyframe the true 'one stop shop' for the window industry.
The first seeds of the Polyframe business where sown in 1992 by the late Mario Earley and current Chairman, Martyn Buckley. The original company, Hi-Spec Windows, was a small business that supplied and installed PVCu windows to the retail market for a small percentage profit.

In 1994 a decision was made to venture into the manufacturing sector of the industry to enable the company to become self sufficient in a very competitive market place - and Polyframe was born.Since 1995, when the company occupied a 1000 sq ft unit and produced a mere 40 frames a week and employed only 3 people, Polyframe grew rapidly and moved to a 10 000 sq foot factory, quickly followed by a further move to a 40 000 sq foot factory and then a further relocation into a 90 000 sq ft factory unit in 1999 to increase capacity to manufacture up to 1200 frames per week.
The business continued to grow and in 2002 moved into the current premises in Gibbet St Halifax which boasts a 200 000 sq ft modern fabrication plant with a capacity for 8000 windows and 1000 doors each week.Recent years have seen an investment of over £4 million in new technology and state of the art manufacturing plant to ensure that every frame is manufactured to the highest possible quality.Additionally as the business has grown and volumes increased sophisticated bar coding technology is utilised throughout the factory to ensure that the right product is delivered on time - every time.
Over the past three years the product range has grown significantly with the business now manufacturing 5 different PVCu profiles, whilst at the same time introducing a series of unique products for their customers including a modular conservatory range, a fire escape ladder, an innovative aluminium profile system and a range of 7 coloured profiles offered from stock.

The last 3 years has seen continued growth, so it became apparent that further manufacturing capacity was required. As a result, 2011 saw Polyframe purchase a well known company in the south of England, Aspen Windows, with it's, 100 000 sq ft, manufacturing facility in Norwich. The new factory enables Polyframe to service the ever increasing customer base in the south and the increasing volumes being ordered. The Norwich factory has taken the business to new levels and further augmented the manufacturing capacity of the company.
The future for Polyframe continues to be positive with further investment in new products, new plant and new technology continuing as the business moves forward and grows in the future.
