9.35pm - For all the post-match reaction visit the Official Website later. Thank you as always for your company this evening. Join us again on Saturday for the final pre-season game Trafford before the real stuff begins at home to Buxton on Saturday 21st. I cannot wait!
9.32pm - And that's the last action of what turned out to be a tough encounter for Neil Aspin's men. They seemed to be enjoying an enjoyable romp until two goals in as many minutes from Tom Williams set up a nervy finale.
9.32pm - FULL TIME Clitheroe 2 FC HALIFAX 3
9.31pm - Free kick right on the edge of the corner of the area after Phelan ajudged to have handled. Free kick by Williams headed over.
9.29pm - And maybe Town should be facing a penalty now! But the very strong penalty claims after a Bower challenge are waved away. If that was up at the other end we'd all be crying, 'Penalty'
9.27pm - Not long left as Town look to gain their second victory of their pre-season campaign. Their first being in the opening 5-0 hammering of Brighouse in July
9.24pm - Town launch their first attack in a while but Vardy can't quite find Taylor. Useful little partnership growing there, perhaps
9.24pm - After a quick rub down he is back with us
9.22pm - Corner is a good one and is met by a towering header and Senior needs to save on the line. Riley is receiving treatment to an injury
9.22pm - Williams runs at Riley but Riley puts ball out for a corner.
9.20pm - Scrmable in the box but Senior saves. Corner to Clitheroe and Gray has to be alert to turn away at the far post. If this was a league game I'd be twitching in my seat!
9.15pm - Great delivery sees header from centre back just go over bar. The home side are pushing for an equaliser, which, less than 25 minutes ago, seemed impossible to achieve
9.14pm - Riley penalised for an apparent handball on right touchline. Harsh
9.12pm - Vardy thinks he has made the game safe but he is deemed to be in an offside position following a Gray assist. Close call that from the assistant referee.
9.10pm - That little flourish may have set us up for a frantic final 20 minutes...and who said pre-season friendlies were tedious affairs?!
9.04pm - He's only gone and scored another! Williams at the double as he turns in a cross from the right. Great couple of minutes for the hosts and for Williams
9.04pm - GOAL Clitheroe 2 FC HALIFAX 3 - Tom Williams 64 mins
9.03pm - Number 17 it turns out is called Tom Williams and he's just scored a really good goal. Bower loses possession and Williams is quickly on it, he races past Riley before cooly slotting home to make it 1-3. Hang on a moment, make that 2-3...
9.03pm - GOAL Clitheroe 1 FC HALIFAX 3 - Tom Williams 63 mins
9.01pm - Triple substitution for Clitheroe - 61 mins
9.00pm - In a word, no! And Clitheroe attack with pace but can't conjure an opportunity
8.59pm - Town have free kick on the far left hand side for handball. Can they make it 4-0 from here?
8.58pm - Chance for the home side to get back into this game but number 17 scoops the ball high over the stand. New ball please!
8.54pm - That one is in though! From the resulting Garner corner Taylor's near-post flick-on is tapped in by Gray at the far post. Too easy
8.54pm - GOAL Clitheroe 0 FC HALIFAX 3 - Nicky Gray 54 mins
8.53pm - That really should be 3-0! Marshall tests the keeper this time who blocks his shot couragously. Gray's shot on the rebound is deflected narrowly wide. Some Town fans thought that was in!
8.52pm - Town's first progression into the home side's half in the second period nearly results in a third goal. Plummer rolls the ball into the feet of Marshall who turns and shoots but the ball crawls wide of the far post. The Clitheroe keeper was unsure about that one!
8.50pm - Another Clitheroe attack, another Phil Senior save. This time it was a bit more comfortable but it was a save that still needed to be made
8.48pm - It's suddenly become rather nippy here at Shawbridge. And it's raining!
8.46pm - And they attack immediately as Senior is forced into an early save at his near post. Good reflexes their from the substitute
8.45pm - Clitheroe start the second half
8.45pm - TOWN SUB - Senior replaces Proctor in goal
8.44pm - The Shaymen lead through first half goals from Nathan Taylor and Scott Phelan
8.43pm - Stay with us for all the latest news from Shawebridge.
8.43pm - Town are back out for the second half.
8.30pm - Bang on time the half-time whistle blows. Scrappy at times but Town take a deserved two-goal lead into the break.
8.25pm - That really is a beautiful goal. Riley plays an ambitious ball over the top and Phelan breaks with pace to run onto it before volleying it first time into the far bottom corner. He doesn't score many and even though it's a friendly he should treasure that one!
8.25pm - GOAL Clitheroe 0 FC HALIFAX 2 - Scott Phelan 40 mins
8.23pm - That's better from the home side though. A slick move ends with striker finding Proctor in great form again and the ball falls to the feet of number six whose first time shot sails over
8.22pm - Not much action here at Shawbridge at the moment...very scrappy
8.18pm - Garner and Marshall again combine and Marshall tries curling the ball with his right foot but the keeper is equal to it
8.16pm - Taylor now tries to return the favour to Vardy but after sprinting away down the right his cross is cleared before the ex-Stocksbridge star can turn the ball home
8.15pm - Clitheroe respond by gaining two free kicks in good positions but Town defend well on both occasions
8.12pm - Another Town attack but not another goal. A cross from the right finds Garnet and his return ball back in is by Vardy but it is deflected off target
8.11pm - There's his goal! Vardy plays a sublime cross into the far post from the left and Taylor is there to slot home high into the net. He deserves that!
8.11pm - GOAL FC HALIFAX 1 Clitheroe 0 - Nathan Taylor 26 mins
8.09pm - And again! Another great save by Proctor. This was a lot closer to him this time around, 8 yards out, but it was a very good save
8.08pm - He might not have have been called into action a minute a go but he certainly was then! That was a great save by Proctor! A Clitheroe midfielder isn't closed down and his low shot from 25 yards is heading to the bottom corner before Proctor's strong right hand denies him
8.07pm - Clitheroe respond with an attack of their own but Riley and Bower close him out when at one point it seemed he only had Proctor to beat
8.07pm - Garner and Marshall link well before the latter lashes a shot just wide from 18 yards
8.04pm - How Nathan Taylor hasn't scored against his old club is a mystery! Vardy charges down the left and instead of shooting from a possible angle he plays a delicate ball across goal. A Clitheroe defender gets a touch which seems to put Taylor off but it was more or less an open net!
8.03pm - Taylor now does find the net but it is disallowed for a previous infringement on the byline
8.01pm - Town attack again and really should find the net. A low cenre from the right is not cleared by a static home defence, Marshall uses dazzling footwork but can't get a concrete shot away, Vardy swoops to try his luck and finally Taylor gets his foot through the ball within the six yard box but his shot is staright at the keeper. Scramble.
7.50pm - Corner comes to nothing however
7.59pm - And now Town have their first corner after good work by Gray
7.57pm - And that's the first shot on target. Metcalfe finds Phelan who hits a swerving shot from 25 yards which the Clitheroe keeper just about manages to cling on to
7.56pm - First meaningful touch for Proctor as rises to collect a dangerous-looking right wing cross
7.54pm - Scott Phelan turns on the magic out of the blue, beating two players before finding Vardy's chest before the striker is crowded out. Good stuff from Phelan though
7.53pm - And that's nearly 1-0. Garner's delivery is met by Riley and his first time effort flies just past the far post
7.52pm - Town have another set-piece just inside the Clitheroe half.
7.50pm - From the resulting free kick Garner is through but the whistle is blown for handball
7.49pm - There's a few challenhes going in here. Town have a free kick on the halfway courtesy of a vigourous challenge
7.48pm - Home side deep free kick finds it way to a free Clitheroe player but his cross is cleared.
7.47pm - Scrappy couple of minutes as Clitheroe try to attack
7.45pm - And just like their shirts, Town make a bright start here. Gray is slipped in down the left but his low ball across goal is cleared
7.45pm - Town kick off in their bright orange shirts towards our left
