Updates by Adam Cheshire- let us have your thoughts at kellygilchrist@halifaxafc.co.uk

4.55pm - Well, well, well. First half fantastic. First three points on the road this season, fantastic. But we were made to hold on for them at the end. Aspin's men could've been out of sight byt the end of the opening 45 minutes but those three points are the main thing. Catch all the reaction from the 5-goal thriller later tonight on the Official Website

4.53pm - Full time Mickleover 2 FC Halifax 3

4.52pm - Town defend at the back and build an attack which releases Dean. He takes on the last defender and hits a shot across the face of goal. Close. That would've sent the place wild...and eased the nerves

4.50pm - The ball is in the back of the net and Sports think they've got an equaliser. They haven't. Ball from the left is nodded back and the ball is driven home but the referee blows for a foul.

4.48pm - Garner goes down in the box after a firm hand on the shoulder. To the dismay of the Town fans behind the goal, no penalty is given

4.46pm - Aspin shouts from the touchline, "Do your jobs!" Come on Shaymen, so close to our first three points away on the road this season

4.46pm - Sports in again as Steadman is released down the right but his ball drifts away from a red and black shirt

4.45pm - Point proven as O'Connell thinks he's clear but the flag is raised

4.43pm - There are six minutes left. These could be a nervy six minutes!

4.41pm - Town sub - Gray comes on for Marshall - 81 mins

4.40pm - Town have been so dominant in this game. Yet, bizarrely, they have been pegged back to that slender single goal lead

4.38pm - And it's game on again. Bower brings down O'Connell and Steadman fires high to beat Senior from the spot

4.38pm - Goal Mickleover 2 FC Halifax 3 - Steadman 79 mins

4.38pm - Penalty to Mickleover

4.36pm - Corner finds Dean at the far post who battles to win another corner, which Sports eventually clear and build an attack of their own and Bailey shoots over

4.35pm - Marshall hits an incredible shot 30 yards out but Eley saves. He also denies the pouncing Holland on the rebound. Corner to Town

4.34pm - Town sub - Dean replaces the exceptional Vardy - 65 mins

4.33pm - Deano, Deano, Deano...you know what's coming...

4.32pm - Mickleover Sub - Guy replaced by Bailey - 73 mins

4.31pm - Phelan finds Marshall who knocks a ball over the top to that man Vardy but Eley judges it well. He can only find Holland however but the striker gets the ball stuck underneath his feet and the chance is gone

4.29pm - Senior now in action as he saves a shot from Walshe

4.28pm - Those palms may sting in the morning! Baker stands over a free kick 35 yards out and smashes a drive through the crowd of players which Eley does well to keep out

4.26pm - And there is the two-goal lead restored! Vardy is played through (seriously I'm getting bored of writing that now!) and he prods the ball past the advancing Eley. Another, and thoroughly deserved, goal for Vardy, who has been unplayable today

4.26pm - Goal Mickleover 1 FC Halifax 3 - Vardy 68 mins

4.24pm - A Town fan cries out, "Keep the fight up." The second half hasn't quite hit the dizzy blitzing heights of the first half, but there's still plenty left in the tank I'm sure!

4.22pm - It's like Christmas has come early! Another card. This time a yellow one for Strzyzewski for a foul on Holland - 64 mins

4.21pm - Yellow card for Holland for a collision on the far side

4.20pm - Garner now goes to left-back, and Bower moves into the centre. It's a midfield three of Phelan, Baker and Winter

4.19pm - Town Sub - Phelan replaces the injured Riley - 60 mins

4.17pm - Doesn't look good for the centre-back

4.16pm - Garner froces a corner but Sports clear. Riley is receiving treatment to a head wound. From here it looks in a similar place to where he took that whack against Buxton

4.13pm - In a word, harsh. Vardy is released through on goal (how many times have I said that this afternoon?) but the offside flag is raised unbeknownst to Vardy and Eley and the pair unfortunately collide. The man in black punishes Town's striker, as Eley lays on the floor and recieves treatment

4.12pm - Yellow Card Jamie Vardy - 54 mins

4.11pm - At the other end Garner cross towards Bower but Town's captain can't get a touch

4.10pm - Free kick whipped in, flicked on by Marshall and instead of letting it go out for a Sports corner, a Town player heads it back into the dangerzone, where Steadman forces Senior into a smart near-post save

4.10pm - Sports launch an attack of their own which comes to an abrupt end following a garner foul on the edge of the area

4.09pm - Another Town move forward and they're appealing for a handball in the area. Penalty not given

4.08pm - Steady start to the second half but Town suddenly come alive. Garner finds Marshall centrally in space before unleashing a speculative 35 yard drive over the bar

4.05pm - No half time substitutions from both sides. Can Town repeat their glowing attacking performance of the opening 45 minutes?

4.04pm - The game has started for the second half

4.01pm - Let us have your thoughts, can Town beat Mickleover? Let us know by emailing kellygilchrist@halifaxafc.co.uk

4.00pm - Awaiting the two teams for the second half. Stay with us to see if Town can get the first away win of the season

3.51pm - Vardy, in particular, has been absolutely superb. His pace is causing all sorts of problems for the home side. More of the same please in the second half

3.50pm - By far the best 45 minutes of Town's 2010-11 Evo-Stik premier season. And we've only got a one goal advantage to show for it!

3.48pm - Half-time Mickleover Sports 1 FC Halifax Town 2

3.47pm - Garner set piece lands on the head of Bower, who powers it into the ground before the ball bounces off the woodwork.

3.47pm - The pacey Vardy is again in down the right with Holland free in the centre but Mickleover force the ball out for a corner

3.46pm - Now that is a clear cut chance! Free kick to town finds Bower at the back stick. header back across goal is perfect for Vardy but his sweeping volley is all wrong and the ball balloons over

3.45pm - No clear cut chance created from garner's deleivery.

3.45pm - Back up at the other end, where we like it, Vardy is causing more problems and wins a corner

3.44pm - And the lead was almost completely wiped out altogether! Sports away down the left, pull back towards O'Connell but Hogan gets an incredible touch to deny a certain equaliser

3.43pm - How have the Shaymen only got a 1-0 lead? Winter finds Vardy but his shot rolls wide

3.42pm - Garner whipped ball in is skewed by Carter and Eley gets down low to his left to prevent the own goal

3.42pm - But they deal with it comfortably and they break. Attack altered though as Holland is fouled on the right

3.41pm - Town deal nervously with a couple of Sports corners. They have a thrid one to deal with now...

3.38pm - Vardy is away again. Released down the left, he is decisive this time and pulls the ball back but it is behind Holland. Town close to restoring their 2-0 lead

3.37pm - Yellow card  for Guy following a foul on Winter near the halfway line

3.36pm - Spoke a bit too soon there! Steadman is through, hesitant defending on Town's part, and he clips it over the stranded Senior. This game not yet over, perhaps?

3.35pm - Goal Mickleover 1 FC Halifax Town 2 - Steadman 36 mins

3.34pm - Neil Aspin said in his Shaymen Player post-match interview after the 1-1 draw with Colwyn Bay that he wanted a very big performance from his men. This has all the hallmarks of a classic Town performance

3.32pm - And this game was nearly out of reach for the home side. Baker again is the provider to Vardy, who bares down on goal but he doesn't know whether to shoot or square to Holland. Indecision creeps in and the attempted pass to his strike partner is intercepted

3.31pm - Think this is a complement to how Neil Aspin's men have come firing out of the blocks. Smythe didn't look injured. Mickleover need something extra special to get back into this game

3.30pm - Mickleover Sub - Ashton replaces Smythe - 29 mins

3.29pm - Town keep up this amazing attacking intent. Marshall releases Garner down the left, and even though he is forced to the byline, his cross finds Marshall but he is crowded out

3.26pm - Oh my word, they're really turning it on! Another sublime pass by that man Baker and he finds, you guessed correctly, Vardy, and his quite brilliant lob finds the back of the net. Wow!

3.25pm - Goal Mickleover 0 FC Halifax 2 - Vardy 24 mins

3.25pm - Vardy has another chance, bit more routine this time after a Baker through ball but Eley gets to it first

3.23pm - Confidence? Audacity? Talent? Cheek? Call it what you like but that would've been glorious! Vardy wide on the left, sees Eley off his line and decides to chip him from 3o plus yards. The ball seems destined for the top corner but it decides to drift off target at the last second.

3.21pm - For all FC Halifax's attacking prowess - they've been electric going forward so far - they do need to be on their guard at the back.

3.20pm - Referee talks to Hogan after going through the back of a home side player. Free kick picks out Steadman who lashes high and wide when well placed

3.18pm - Rare attack by Mickleover. Hogan slip and Steadman is in. His pull back is for O'Connell but his left-footed effort is dragged wide.

3.16pm - Garner corner again finds Riley but header is somehow kept out by Eley. Holland sees his flicked effort just go wide of the target. Town could be out of sight by now

3.15pm - Garner free kick flicked on and Riley at the far post sees his goalbound volley deflected over

3.15pm - Taken short but Winter battles and sets Town on another attack, which is brought to an end near the corner flag after a foul.

3.14pm - Free kick for Mickleover wide on the left

3.12pm - Town have to be alert at the other end though for a home side corner, but Senior, making his first start of the season in goal, punches clear

3.11pm - Such a simple, yet beautiful goal. And a goal which is merited after a stunning opening 10 minutes from the Shaymen

3.10pm - Super breakaway goal. Determined work in midfield and suddenly Vardy is clear down the left. His pace and trickery is outstanding and his low centre is converted easily by the waiting Holland.

3.10pm GOAL Mickleover 0 FC Halifax 1 - Holland 9 mins

3.08pm - Another chance for Town. Garner corner finds it way to Riley at the back stick. The big centre half heads it back across goal to Vardy, whose header is returned back to the far post with interest and Bower is close to finding a touch which would surely have brought the opening goal

3.07pm - Great strength from Winter in centre of the park, Marshall is free again down the right and forces a corner

3.06pm - Very bright start to the game. Hope we can keep up with it?!

3.05pm - First sign of danger at the other end but Baker bravely blocks  a Smythe effort

3.04pm - Town look hungry. Marshall is away down the right and his cross is aimed for Holland, but he cnat turn towards goal and the chance is gone

3.02pm - And that is so so close to the first goal. Baker is staright back up and slips in Holland in acres of space down the right and his first time shot rolls inches wide of the far post

3.02pm - First free kick is Town's after Baker is fouled

3.01pm - It's the Shaymen to kick off from left to right as we see it in the main stand. Here we go...
