4.44pm - Nice way to comlete pre-season that. Solid performance against a decent Trafford side. Now we can look forward to Buxton next Saturday! Hope Scott Phelan is ok though?!

4.43pm - And they go into that Buxton game on the back of a win at Shawe View as Garner sweeps the ball home after a Vardy cross.

4.41pm - Not long left now of FC Halifax's pre-season. Like me, I'm sure you can't wait for the proper stuff to start! Town entertain Buxton at the Shay next Saturday in their opening game of the EvoStik Premier League season

4.37pm - Ball played over top and Holland looks to chase. Defender gets a head to it and keeper snatches the ball before the striker can get a goalbound touch.
4.36pm - Latest Premier League: Aston Villa 3 West Ham 0
4.35pm - Hedge was scrambling there but number 3's cross-come-shot evades the goal. Could be a lively ending to this game
4.33pm - Danger for Town as free kick is it sweetly just outside the area. The net ripples but fortunately the ball lands on top of the goal. Trafford pushing for the equaliser here
4.32pm - Hope there's nothing too much to read into that and that it's just precautionary. The last thing Neil Aspin wants is another injury within his squad
4.31pm - Town sub - Phelan replaced by Garner 77 mins
4.29pm - It's all happening in the Town box. Hogan produces a magical tackle to deny a Trafford player, the ball isn't cleared however and a white-shirted player tumbles to the floor. No penalty given.
4.27pm - Now that stayed hit! Number 16 strikes a bobbling ball 25 yards out which beats Hedge easily but the ball smacks against the bar. Hedge punches away the impending danger. Unlucky for Trafford
4.26pm - Corner met by Holland's head but is cleared off the line by defender
4.25pm - Giant leap and header by Riley locates Taylor who wins a corner.
4.24pm - Phelan receiving treatment. Doesn't look too bad as he comes straight back on. Phew!
4.23pm - Latest Premier League: Sunderland 2 Birmingham 0
4.21pm - Think they might need a few ball boys to find that one, as Baker smashes (as in absolutely hits it as hard as possible) it over the little stand behind the goal and out of the ground! Think that ended up in Manchester City Centre!
4.20pm - Free kick to Town 25 yards out after Holland is manhandled to the ground

4.17pm - Another good save but this one is more about right place, right time. Corner is met by Hogan but downward header is smothered by keeper. Surely number two is just around the corner?
4.16pm - Great save! Town free kick, flicked on by Bower towards Taylor in acres of space but the Trafford keeper somehow touches it over for a corner
4.15pm - Trafford respond with another shot off target. This one came in from an acute angle on the left hand touchline.
4.14pm - Hardy supplies Baker, controls well but fires left footed shot over
4.12pm - Town Sub Marshall replaces Metcalfe - 59 mins
4.11pm - Hedge isn't needed there but it was close as Trafford again try their luck from distance. This curling shot went just wide of the target
4.09pm - And Trafford have just been denied by an absolutely stunning Jonathan Hedge save. A Hogan clearance finds a home player miles out, but he senses a shooting opportunity but Hedge flings himself to his left to tip away the vicious effort. That was heading to the top corner
4.08pm - Vardy has the ball in the net for the second time but is denied by a linesman flag
4.06pm - The sun has really come out now in Manchester. It's sunny, it's warm, the Shaymen are winning...it doesn't get much better! (Oh, it's only a friendly...)
4.04pm - Latest Premier League: Blackpool made it 3-0 against Wigan just before half time at the DW Stadium. A sensational opening 45 minutes for Ian Hollway's men in their very first Premier League outing
4.03pm - Hedge called into action twice in quick succession. Firstly he tips away a curling effort to his left. The ball is only cleared to Trafford player, however, who sweetly strikes a volley from 25 yards. The ball stings Hedge's palms who collects at the second attempt
4.02pm - Metcalfe corner flicked on by Bower and Taylor's acrobatic effort goes wide. Good start to the second period for Neil Aspin's men
4.01pm - Town attack down the left this time and nearly find the second. Metcalfe's ball in is perfect for substitute Taylor but the home keeper makes a great point-blank save. Corner for the Shaymen
4.00pm - Riley plays superb ball down line to Vardy but his cross is just above Holland
3.59pm - Trafford get the second half underway
3.58pm - Town Subs - Phelan replaces Winter and Taylor comes on for Gray - 46 mins

3.46pm - A comfortable first 45 minutes for the Shaymen and they lead Trafford by a goal to nil courtesy of that fine Vardy lob early on.

3.41pm - Trafford's keeper makes his first save of the game by beating away a Holland shot. Can Town grab a second before half time?
3.39pm - Hogan is back with us, thankfully. He's been very good this afternoon
3.37pm - Hogan heads corner over but falls to the grounds. He needs some treatment
3.36pm - Town still on the attack. Hardy strides forward before playing a delightful ball through to the advanced Baker but his shot is deflected just over. The keeper was well beaten there
3.35pm - Metcalfe corner from the far side is met by Bower but the header sails over
3.34pm - Baker corner comes to nothing, but they soon have another one
3.31pm - Latest Premier League: Sunderland 1 Birmingham 0
3.30pm - The away side now have another corner, this time from the far side. Metcalfe swings it in but Hogan, who has been impressive at the back so far, heads over
3.29pm - Metcalfe takes responsibilty but sends the shot wide of the goal
3.28pm - Town defend a Trafford corner but break quickly thanks to Baker's ball forward. Ball falls kindly for Holland who beats two challenges before the referee blows for a Shaymen free kick
3.25pm - We were right behind that! Baker stands over a free kick wide on the right. The keeper looks to guard his far post, but Baker audaciously goes for the near post but it goes narrowly wide. Superb effort which deserved to be a goal!
3.24pm - Town are getting some neat passing movement going around the edge of Trafford's penalty area. Just need to find the killer pass and finish
3.22pm - It's another good one, which finds Bower but his turn and shot is bravely blocked
3.22pm - Second corner to Town, which Baker will take again
3.21pm - Vardy causing problems. Gray puts in a cross from the right, Vardy connects but heads it over.

3.20pm - Town's keeper hasn't had a meaningful touch as yet
3.19pm - And if they restrict them to shots from 40 yards then we should be fine. Number six comes forward unopposed but lashes an ambitious effort from way out well wide of Hedge's goal
3.18pm - First bit of defending for Town but the back line of Hardy, Riley, Hogan and Bower are coping admirably
3.17pm - Latest from the Premier League: Aston Villa 1 West Ham 0; Blackburn 1 Everton 0
3.15pm - First corner to Town 15 minutes in. Baker whips the ball in but it gets trapped under Gray's feet. Baker returns the ball with interest but Trafford somehow survive.
3.12pm - Scott Metcalfe is also making an appearance against his former club after his signing from the Shawe View side earlier in the summer. He stands over a free kick 25 yards out but smashes it into the wall. He connects well with the rebound but balloons the ball over.
3.10pm - Harry Winter is playing against his former club this afternoon and he nearly scored after a good pull-back from Holland, but a great defensive challenge prevented a shot on target
3.06pm - That was second time lucky for Vardy after his earlier attempted chipped effort. Neat goal.
3.04pm - But we've got a goal here! And what a lovely finish. Baker puts a ball through to Vardy who splendidly lobs the starnded home keeper.

3.03pm - Staying with Manchester goalkeepers, Manchester City's Joe Hart put in an impressive display as his team drew 0-0 at Tottenham
3.02pm - Imaginative by Vardy. The striker jinks past a couple of challenges before trying to chip the keeper from outside the area. Well held by the Trafford stopper.
3.01pm - Town are shooting from right to left as we see it, as the sun shines in Manchester
