The Shaymen extend their unbeaten run in the Unibond League to ten games and continue to top the table after an impressive second half performance sees yet another victory for Jim Vince's men by three goals to one. Goals from Ashley Stott, Paul Gedman and captain Tony Barras saw Town come back from behind at the break after Chorley's Adam Crossley.

The manager made six changes to the side that played out the Presidents Cup win against Sheffield F.C. in midweek.

Jon Kennedy, Danny Meadowcroft, Junior Brown, Paul Gedman and Scott Phelan all return to the starting line up alongside new signing Ajay Leitch-Smith who makes his debut for the Shaymen.

The visitors started the game brightly as Gavin Ellison, after controlling the ball in from the right, turned his man but his instinctive effort went wide of the mark.

Town replied with an effort of their own as Junior Brown looked to pick up where he left off from Tuesday night with a direct run towards the visitors box, but the end product just eluded him as Chorley managed to squeeze the ball out of his possession.

Again Brown was the threat for the Shaymen as Chorley struggled to deal with his pace, a neat link up with Ashley Stott saw Brown stopped in his tracks by Chris Ward. The resulting free kick almost brought the opening goal of the game as Tom Baker's precise free kick found Brown but his header was comfortably collected by Chorley 'keeper Peter Collinge.

Jon Kennedy then denied Chorley's Adam Crossley who managed to get a shot in from a seemingly impossible angle, but when the next chance arose for the Chorley number eight he was to punish the Shaymen and break the deadlock.

A high ball played in behind the home defence found Crossley, who beat the offside trap and the advancing Kennedy to roll the ball into the unguarded goal.

Moments later Halifax almost equalised just before the break when a Junior Brown cross was deflected into the path of Leitch-Smith but he could only direct it onto the left hand post.

It took Town just four minutes of second period to restore parity.

Tom Baker found Brown at the back post and he was deemed to have been pushed over by the referee who pointed to the spot. Ashley Stott converted the penalty for his fifteenth goal of the season giving Collinge no chance.

Stott was then denied a second shortly after when his goal bound effort was deflected wide.

The resulting corner found Tony Barras, whose looping header fell kindly to Paul Gedman who smashed the ball home from inside the area to put Town two - one up with just 15 minutes of the second half played.

Gedman's delight was slightly soured as his over exuberant celebrations produced a yellow card from the referee.

The Shaymen were deserving of their lead as Leitch-Smith was denied a debut goal by Collinge who tipped over the teenager's goal bound effort.

After good work from Brown, Baker then tried his luck with a rasping drive but it fizzed over the bar from around 25 yards.

Despite all the possession the home side almost lost their lead as substitute Kris King failed to clear a loose ball and Matthew Walsh seized on the ball before he curled an effort agonizingly wide of the left hand upright.

But that close call was soon forgotten as Halifax captain Barras extended the home sides lead and condemned the visitors to defeat in injury time.

Again the set piece from Brown was of great quality and he put the ball on a plate for Barras to force the ball home at the far post.

Another great win for the Shaymen who now make it 28 points out of a possible 30.
