Wakefield Vs FC Halifax Town - Report
FC Halifax Town have bowed out of the West Riding County Cup with a 2-1 defeat at College Grove tonight against Wakefield FC.
Town boss Jim Vince made a few of changes to the side which saw Craig Ellison, Jon Smith, Kris King and Luke Hinsley return to action.
Wakefield took the lead on 27 minutes with Chris Howarth forcing the ball home after a corner was cleared off the line.
They doubled their lead shortly before the end with Delroy Ferguson scoring from close range after a cross from the left.
Ashley Stott pulled one back in injury time but the majority of Town's fans will now look forward to the return to league action on Saturday.
Jim Vince told the official site after the game, "I would like to say congratulations to Wakefield for tonight's win and good luck for the rest of the competition.
The game was a good workout for us tonight and we have come through the game with no injuries. Also Tony Barras has completed 20 minutes for us which is pleasing for us."
