Former Halifax Town defender Tom Clarke has declared his intent to stay at Bradford City on loan from local neighbours Huddersfield Town.

The 21 year old, who enjoyed a loan spell with the Shaymen last season, is currently on loan at Valley Parade and despite The Terriers parting company with manager Stan Ternent he is happy to stay with the Bantams for the time being.

Clarke said: "I'm playing first-team games here and the players Stan brought in are still there, so it's not going to change much. If they want me to go back at the end of the month then I'm fine with that, but I'll be just as happy if Bradford want me to stay a bit longer."

He added, "Stan signed a lot of new players, but people have different opinions. It will be a good chance now for all the lads who've been out of the picture to show what they are made off. It came as a massive shock to hear Stan had gone because the gaffer (Stuart McCall) had just spoken to him about whether I could play in the FA Cup. Then the next day, he was gone."

Clarker made 7 league appearances for The Shaymen last season.
