Holt On Fire For Shrews

Posted on: Sun 26 Oct 2008

Former Halifax Town fullback Adam Yates has ended his loan spell with Blue Square Premier side Burton Albion.

Yates has spent the last six weeks at the Pirelli Stadium but has been deemed surplus to requirements by Nigel Clough and will return to Morecambe.

Former Town defender Peter Jackson believes his Lincoln side still have what it takes to win promotion this season.

He said, "I think in the last four games we have done okay and I've got a feeling that we have turned the corner because we didn't start the season well," said Jackson at a Fans' Forum in Sleaford on Monday night.

"I put myself under pressure by saying that with the nine new signings we would get promotion and go on and do well. I still firmly believe in what I said.

"We've not hit top form yet by any standards, but I'm really, really pleased with the last three or four weeks."

Meanwhile former Town striker Grant Holt hit five goals for Shrewsbury Town last night in their 7-0 win over Wycombe at Adams Park in the Johnstone Paint Trophy.
