Former Huddersfield Town and Halifax Town striker Wayne Allison has joined the coaching staff at Chester City.

A Chester statement said: "Chester City manager Simon Davies has invited former Tranmere Rovers and Chesterfield striker Wayne Allison to assist him with first team coaching duties at the Deva Stadium.

"The 39-year-old Yorkshireman will take over the duties previously undertaken by former assistant manager, Huw Griffiths, who left the club last week."

Meanwhile former Town striker Michael Procter has turned down a move to The Deva Stadium and vowed to fight for his place at neighbours Wrexham.
