Former Forest Green Rovers, Dagenham and Halifax Town striker Alex Meechan has joined Blue Square Premier side York City.

The 27 year old joins the Minstermen on a free transfer from Coca Cola League Two side Chester City. who released him at the end of last season.

Meechan played for Town in the 2004/05 season scoring 1 goal in 8 appearances.
