Morecambe have sealed promotion to the Football League with a 2-1 win over Exeter City at Wembley, in the Conference National playoff final this afternoon.

The Lancashire side came from one down to book their place in the Football League for the first time in their history.

Lee Phillips put Exeter ahead and then goalkeeper Paul Jones saved a penalty from Wayne Curtis to protect the Grecians lead.

Morecambe equalised with a Gary Thompson effort and striker Danny Carlton's beautiful finish on the counter attack gave them victory.
