AFC: Supporters Run Leeds 10K

Several of the team including Freddy the Fox ran the Leeds 10K on Sunday, we ran as a team and finished as a team and we hope to have raised over £2000. The reason we do the run, and raise money for Macmillan cancer support is in memory of coach David Thompsons wife Sarah who sadly passed away 3 years ago. Also Town fan and AFC player Johnny Bramley sadly passed away just a few weeks ago. People can still make donations if they wish by visiting www.justgiving.com/afc-halifax. We would also like to thank the club for allowing Ben Fawkes (who is Freddy on a matchday) to run in the costume.

Also the big preseason tournament WorldNet is approaching very soon which is held at Boddington Hall in Leeds. This year AFC Halifax have entered 2 teams, an open age team and a veterans team. The open age team are in a group with Livingston, Ipswich and Hull City. The veterans are in a group with our good friends from Oxford, Ipswich, Glasgow Rangers and Arsenal. The 2 day event will be held on the weekend of the 24th July and includes almost 100 supporters teams from all over the world. In the past 2 years AFC Halifax have topped their group but have fallen at the first hurdle in the knockout stages. The weekend is a great chance to catch up with old friends, build bridges with other supporters teams and spread the good word about FC Halifax Town
