Town Win 1-0......
FC Halifax Town got back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory at home to Aldershot Town with Ross Dyer scoring the only goal of the game and his first for the club.
The first chance of the game fell to Aldershot’s Kieran Forbes when he saw his turning half volley well tipped over by Matt Glennon.
The home side’s first chance went to Steve Williams, who was unmarked from a Marc Roberts long throw but his header was comfortably saved by Phil Smith.
Jamie Jackson was then presented with a chance on the edge of the area but he ballooned his shot over the bar and over the stand.
James Bolton was the next man to have a chance when he was left unmarked from corner, but the full back headed just over the bar.
Jackson again had a chance, when he managed to just touch the ball past on-rushing goal keeper Smith but the ball trickled just short of the goal line.
Bolton again had a chance when the ball fell to him in the box, but he dragged his shot just wide of the post.
The Shaymen carried on to pile on the pressure as they ended the first half strongly. Scott Boden saw his header go into the path of Williams, but the ball was well cleared for a corner.
The Shaymen began to second half brightly, Boden seeing his well struck shot well saved by Smith in the Aldershot goal.
Aside from the few half chances, the first half provided little drama, with a stubborn Aldershot defence keeping out the Shaymen and the sides went in 0-0 at the break.
Boden again proved a danger, the frontman was presented with a great chance when he managed to away from his man and forced a great fingertip save from Smith.
Jordan Roberts managed to test goalkeeper Glennon for the first time in the second with a fizzing shot but The Shaymen keeper was equal to the effort.
The goal finally came for The Shaymen when substitute Ross Dyer found himself unmarked at the back post and the frontman slotted home to make it 1-0.
Brett Williams almost got the away side an equaliser with a driven shot but Glennon made a terrific save out for a corner.
Boden again had another chance for the home side, but saw his chipped effort go just wide of the mark.
Dyer had the chance to get his and Town’s second of day, but his one on one effort was well saved by the legs of Smith.
Aldershot started to create some chances in the final minutes of the game but couldn’t get past Town’s defence.
