Town Lose 2-0.......

Halifax were unable to record a second win on the road as they recorded a 2-0 defeat at 22nd placed Tamworth
Halifax made just one change from their mid-week 3-3 draw against Gateshead. Reece Gray came in for the departed Dan Gardner who completed his move to Chesterfield today. 
The home side got off to the quicker start, creating several opportunities in the first 15 minutes. Within a minute of kick off, Andy Todd was released down the right but had his shot was blocked by Scott McManus
Soon after, Nick Chadwick had a couple of opportunities for the lambs, firing a header wide of the right post before volleying wide after more good work from Todd down the right. 
Town began to create some chances for themselves after some early pressure. Reece Gray worked the ball down the right hand side before Smith whipped a ball in for Gregory who chested down before having his volley block by Jordan Keane. 
Adam Smith and Josh Wilson both found space in the centre before firing low shots down the middle which keeper Cameron Belford struggled to keep hold of on both occasions. 
The Shaymen came close to taking the lead on the 23rd minute. Matty Pearson managed to drive his way into the box and flashed a shot across goal which was well saved by Belford. 
Halfway through the first half, one of the linesman was forced off but was quickly replaced by the fourth official.  
Tamworth came back on the break as Chadwick had another chance to score when the ball was played from the left to the back post but his effort was blocked. 
Lloyd Kerry had a weak shot comfortably saved by Matt Glennon after slipping in the centre of the area but made up for it on the edge of half time. 
The home side nicked a goal on the edge of half time when Kerry cut in from the left, swinging the ball to the far post where the ball was left to bounce into the side netting. 
Halifax started the second half a lot brighter as they raised their tempo with Jon Worthington giving the midfield more energy after replacing Paul Marshall
Pearson continued to put the home keeper under pressure as he volleyed wide of the target two minutes after the restart and then drilled a low shot from the edge of the box into the keeper’s arms. 
Just before the hour mark, the hosts doubled their lead against the run of play. The Lambs lofted a free kick from the edge of the box which was flicked on by Captain Wayne Thomas into the path of Todd who smashed the ball home. 
Following the second goal, Town continued to create chances to bring themselves back into the game. 
On the 65th minute, Simon Ainge">Simon Ainge had a header saved at the near post and then Marc Roberts had his header scrambled away by Belford. 
Kevin Holsgrove came on with 23 minutes to go as Neil Aspin urged his team forward. He had an immediate impact as he helped find McManus on the far side who took a touch before hammering a volley which was tipped over by the keeper. 
Despite increasing the intensity in the second half, the Shaymen were unable to find the net. Pearson had another chance to score after being laid up on the edge of the area but his shot sizzled wide of the post. 
With 10 minutes to play, Halifax were given a free kick, 25 yards out but Josh Wilson was unable to keep his effort on target.
Tamworth had very few chances after netting their second. Chadwick came close to putting his name on the score sheet when the ball finally fell to him in the six yard box after the ball was swept past the face of goal but he skied his effort. 
Halifax bombarded the Tamworth goal and created endless corners but the lowly ranked hosts resisted the pressure and held out for the win.
The game finished Tamworth FC 2 FC Halifax Town 0.
