FC Halifax Town will welcome Tamworth Town to the MBI Shay Stadium in the first round of the FA Trophy this Saturday.
Since the takeover of Jim Harvey as caretaker manager, the Shaymen faithful have not seen Town lose a game, with impressive performances against Gateshead, Dover and their most recent hard fought draw against Guiseley at home.
It was a difficult first half, but Town managed to take a clean in the break. Just a few minutes into the second half, Guiseley found the back of the net for the first time through Anthony Dudley, heading home a cross from Gavin Rothery. Despite plenty of chances to gain an equaliser, Town were 1-0 down with five minutes to go, before Sam Walker stepped up to send a powerful free kick rocketing into the net to level the score. With just minutes left on the clock, Town made the push to claw back a goal and take the lead for the first time, but were unable to gain that second goal.
Meanwhile, Tamworth currently sit just outside the play-off positions, in 6th place after a promising start to the season. Tamworth recently won their home tie against Worcester City in a 3-0 victory.
