Dartford: Preview

FC Halifax Town take on Dartford on Tuesday night as the two teams contest a replay in the FA Trophy Third Round.

The southern outfit pinched a last minute equaliser when the teams met previously, to see the game finish 2-2 after FC Halifax led 2-0 at half-time. In what is an already congested fixture list for Town, Neil Aspin was unsurprisingly disappointed his team could not see the game out.

Current Form

FC Halifax Town have started finding some consistency of late having picked up three wins, one draw and a loss in their last five games. One of those draws was the 2-2 at Dartford, and the previous result saw Town emerge 2-1 winners in the two side’s league fixture. Dartford’s last two fixtures have been against Bristol Rovers and The Shaymen, both ending in draws respectfully. The draw against Bristol at the weekend broke the run of five consecutive defeats in the league for The Darts, The cup competition provides the side with a welcome distraction from their league woes.

Key Man

Dartford’s Elliot Bradbrook is the man Neil Aspin’s men will have to watch out for on Tuesday. The striker has netted on seven occasions this season and is the main reason they sit off the bottom of the league. The Darts have found goals hard to come by so far so keeping this man quiet will go a long way towards a successful evening for The Shaymen.

Last Meeting

The last meeting between the sides was little more than a week ago! An early goal from Richard Peniket gave FC Halifax Town the lead, before Matt Pearson doubled the lead a minute before half-time. Lee Burns halved the deficit for the home side immediately after the break and Rory McAuley added a late equaliser to send the game to a replay.
